Classical Society 21st September

Hey everybody!! Well this is my first post on the classical society blog so I thought I'd give a summary of our fabby meeting last week!
The theme was "animals in the classical world" so we had some classical gerbils visiting the society in CL4. We also saw some interesting video clips to do with animals (sort of anyway) and ate cake!! The gerbils were also raced along the desk tops; Sminthos represented Apollo and then Hermes and Stratos Ares and Iris. Sadly for Stratos, Sminthos won both races!! Anyway, the next classical society meeting will include a talk by Tom Sharp entitled "Nero and Dr. Evil: a match made in heaven", which I'm sure will be very interesting. This Friday there will be no classical gathering on account of Mornington Crescent Academy, but everyone is welcome to come to this, I'm sure you all will enjoy it! Feel free to comment back and tell me how rubbish this post is but forgive me... it's my first one!!

No, it's not rubbish at all - useful for people who could not make it to catch up on what happened, though obviously it is not as good as being there!

You could post a couple of gerbil pics here to brighten the place up a bit, Jenni. Ask if you want help.

Why don't you give us a taste here, Tom? I could send you the details so you can post here - as Jenni says, it is really easy.
